In the Beginning …

It’s important to me to recognize those who provided me with encouragement and support as I wove my way through the obstacles of podcasting 101 and gave me the experience to hone my skills early on.  I want to be very clear that Chris of Curious Times is still alive and well and as with Elvis she has not left the building or planet and there are still those who see and speak with her on a regular basis.  This is not a eulogy but rather a testimony to her contributions to large numbers of us who never had a chance to thank her personally.

Podcasting as we know it started in the early 1980’s, FYI, I don’t go back quite that far.  I started Night-Light Radio in July of 2007 and was introduced to an electronic family that I still have contact with and treasure greatly.  Early on I found Curious Times with it’s host Chris.  She provided a platform for many of us to gather on at the end of every day and for three hours we could let our hair down and communicate with others who spoke the same language.  Her compassionate and catching infectious laughter embraced us and gave us an atmosphere to hone our skills, (whatever they were), and to share in a place where there was no judgment.  She started her show in 2011 and for 8 years she was there almost every night for three hours, rain or shine. Initially on BlogTalk radio for over 1,046 episodes and then finished the run on Intui talks.  Sadly, the archives on BlogTalk are no longer available but I was able to pull some of the archives from IntuiTalks on YouTube and they are linked here.  If any of you are interested in what it was like in the beginning, the joy and the laughter, sit back and enjoy a journey through time with me and be grateful there are still, out there unique, and a bit unusual people like Chris of Curious Times.
