The Fourth Chakra
FOURTH CHAKRA
COMPASSION, BALANCE, SELF-LOVE
The color of nature, balance, peace and harmony. Green brings a feeling of space into our often-claustrophobic city lives. It is nature’s tonic for the heart on a physical level and an emotional level. This vibration connects us to unconditional love and helps us overcome any of our fears associated with the act of loving. When you need to escape but can’t get out to take a deep fresh breath of the color Green.
The fourth chakra, the heart chakra, controls the physical body from the area of the collar bones to a point about 2 fingers above the solar plexus. There is a psychological gap b/t the 3rd and 4th chakra, a crossing point. Here a person might begin to recognize that “self” is constantly changing as it adapts to a constantly shifting spectrum of possibilities in life. The heart chakra is associated with compassion, healing. Green is considered a healing color. Opening the heart chakra, according to Leadbeater, allows a person to sense energy fields and atmospheres. You can also project energy to another person through this center. (My heart goes out to you-could be almost literal.) It is through the heart center and the “3rd eye” center that a person can project rays of energy out to another person. The thymus gland, an actual physical gland located just above the heart, has an effect on the body’s immune system.
The heart center is the regulator of a person’s emotional life. If it is blocked in any way, then emotions will be distorted. The task of this chakra is to integrate and balance the realms of spirit and mind with our physical body (matter).

Venus is responsible for moving beyond the self to acknowledge the life all around and accepting that the individual is apart of a greater world. Acceptance leads to appreciation through which we constantly grow. Above all, Venus values true love and its shared sense of oneness. | ||||
Area of consciousness | This is the first level beyond 3-dimensional matter. Here we have the bridge between the dimensions of matter and the dimensions of spirit. Although we may refer to the “lower chakras” as being concerned with mankind, and the “upper chakras” as being concerned with spirituality and God, each chakra is no less important than the other. For instance, the first chakra has a number of frequencies (all with the Red vibration), ranging from very low to very high. The goal is to rise above a chakra’s lower frequencies into its higher ones. |

The heart chakra is linked to our true soul emotions and our ability to give and receive unconditional love. Green is linked to the heart center and affects the physical heart and blood circulation. Green is found in the center of the spectrum. It is neither a cool nor a warm color and is therefore entirely neutral. Green can be used in healing to compliment any of the other colors. It harmonies its energy, restoring balance and bringing peace. When the heart charka is open it brings with it understanding, sympathy and co-operation with others and with nature. Green is the color of evolution and we have to learn to trust the process of life. Pink is also related to the heart, for pink symbolizes divine love. Open hearted people are generally complete and content in themselves. These people do not find it hard to accept and forgive others.
The fourth chakra is associated with a gradual increasing of consciousness, as it sits between the lower three and upper three chakras. However, primarily, it is the center of unconditional love. When a person becomes disconnected from their heart and the emotions associated with this region, the fourth chakra becomes closed off. This often results in both low energy and shallow breathing. At times when your feeling a fourth chakra blockage, you might even feel that it’s difficult to breath. Emotionally, when this chakra is blocked, your likely to feel wounded or victimized. Often this will be due to trying to work out past problems. If this kind of inner turmoil happens on an ongoing basis without relief, the overall effect can be a feeling of being stuck in the past.
When the energy from the fourth chakra is disrupted, you may have trouble protecting yourself from emotional harm because you generally feel raw and emotionally vulnerable.
