At an early age, Alicia began making handbags from scraps of fabric taken from her mother’s supply of material. Sitting patiently, waiting for her mother to finish making curtains or a dress, Alicia would enthusiastically take the remnants and run off to create her masterpieces. Those early beginnings led her to start her first fashion line as a teenager when she outfitted her younger sister with a few new dresses and blouses each week. This earned Alicia her first award when her sister was named Best Dressed!
