Are we Horton or the Who?

Are we Horton or the Who?

I have always been a fan of Dr. Seuss, his lyrical style and magical characters have always delighted and entertained me and often when reading them to my son I felt the message wasn’t getting through to him as much as it did to me.  He may have written his books for the entertainment of the young but lately I have found they also were sending messages to the adults (if you want to call us that) in the room.  I recently went back and re read Horton Hears the Who from a more spiritual point of view and found that the messages there for one on a spiritual pathway were most profound and enlightening.  So here’s a challenge for you.  Here’s the link for a reading of the book…

Instead of being superficial listen from the standpoint of humanity and the source of all creation.  Who are we in the story, Horton or the Who?  Are we the one struggling to survive in a vast universe?  Do we have to all work together in order to survive?  Or are we the one trying to protect those who are weaker then us, those whose voices are not or cannot be heard?  Or are we both looing for a balance between the two?  I would be interested in your thoughts.  At least read through the Doctors work with an understanding that there is a deeper message there for those who listen close enough to hear it.
