What Causes Phobias?

According to the dictionary;

“A phobia is an overwhelming and unreasonable fear of an object or situation that poses little real danger but provokes anxiety and avoidance. Unlike the brief anxiety most people feel when they give a speech or take a test, a phobia is long lasting, causes intense physical and psychological reactions, and can affect your ability to function normally at work or in social settings.”

cause-of-phobiasAlmost all of us suffer to one degree or another from a phobia, we can’t explain the fear we just know it’s there and we react to it. It is the term “unreasonable” that really gives us the clue as to the source of our feelings. Spiritually speaking phobias can almost always be traced to a past life experience in which our passing was of such a traumatic nature that the fear was imprinted upon the spirit energy to such a degree that the fear was carried forward into the next lifetime.

Knowing that phobias are frequently linked to past lives can in some cases help to understand and possibly be diminished helps sometimes. There are those who speculate that when the age of the passing in the past life has been reached this life then the phobia does become diminished, but this is not always the case. Sometimes past life regression can be used to discover the source but this is not a theory held by many.

Having an understanding of phobias does in some ways help to understand the roller coaster ride that can be triggered in some of the most inconvenient times.
